This morning my friend, Larissa, took me strawberry picking at a local farm. I brought home all of the above for only $10 (plus a little sweat and arm scratches, which I really didn't mind). This was my first "pick your own" experience, but I loved it and I look forward to more in the future. It's very cool eating fresh produce that's been grown just miles from your home, and in this case, in a chemical free manner. If you're interested, check out this

As for my strawberries, they've been washed and culled. One quart is in the refrigerator, destined for some delicious dessert, and the other four are in the freezer, waiting to be made into jam. Larissa makes legendary strawberry jam, and she's promised to show me how!
