Last weekend Rusty and I had a chance to go back to Chicago for a short visit. He needed to touch base with his advisor and I tagged along to see old friends and gain a few pounds. As you'll see from the pictures, we did A LOT of eating!
Highlights of the trip were Lou Malnati's (our favorite pizza eatery), visiting our friends Nate and Elaine in their new bakery, Fritz Pastry, a big group dinner with old friends at Ben Pao (Sadly, we forgot our camera at that outing), a visit to the newly expanded Sweet Mandy B's, and hanging out with Trent and Jeanne, our awesome hosts who let us drag them around the city and taught us a fun new game, Ticket to Ride. Our last night in the city, we visited Rick Bayless' new restaurant, Xoco, which features awesome Mexican street food (tortas, churros, etc.) in a fun atmosphere.
While I loved being in the city again, I was definitely reminded that I DON'T want to live in Chicago. :)
