How to Make a Chip Butty

Today I had my first experience with a "chip butty", which is essentially a sandwich that consists of chips on a roll. I had seen these on menus but never seen one in person. Today, however, was my lucky day. Two of my co-workers, Sean and Cynthia, purchased the makings for chip butties at work today and proceeded to make this sandwich. They were kind enough to explain it to me and let me take a few pictures, which I will now share with you, so that you can make your very own chip butty at home.
  1. Procure the necessary ingredients. Minimally, this includes a roll and chips. However, one co-worker buttered the roll (butter is the condiment of choice for sandwiches here) and added salt and vinegar to the chips, while another co-worker left off the butter and included pepper.
2. Place the prepared chips onto the prepared bun. My co-workers used approximately 3 layers of chips.

3. Smoosh the chip butty so that the ingredients stick together.
4. Enjoy!

I love chips, and I love them on a sandwich (burger, chicken sandwich, etc...) but this just doesn't appeal to me.
