The Chippy

Tonight before church I had my first "Chippy" experience. A Chippy is a fish and chips shop, particularly a takeout one where they wrap up your food in paper and you eat "outwith" the shop. I've had lots of sit down fish and chips, but this was my first experience with golden-fried goodness wrapped in paper! We went to "Afishionado's" in Perth and each got a fish supper each. Everything was fried, but there was actually quite a bit to choose from...pizza, burgers, haggis, sausage, etc. Again...all deep fried. The food was just ok... by the time we got it to the church it was pretty soggy, and I missed the tartar sauce and mushy peas that I have come to enjoy with fish and chips. But it was an experience that one must have in the UK and I'm glad that I did!
