Week 5

I just finished Day 2 of Week 5 on the C25K training program. This week's workout is:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:
  • Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
  • Walk 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then jog two miles (or 20 minutes) with no walking.
Monday I really struggled and felt even more discouraged when I heard that I had two 8 minute runs today and a 20 minute run on Friday! But, I just made up my mind that I was doing it and I did, and I felt great. Also, I returned to my running mix that Rusty made, as I could time myself on the treadmill. It really helped to have high energy songs that I know, rather than the techno nonsense on my podcasts. So, two days down and a twenty minute run looming ahead on Friday. I know it will be hard work, but I'm just going to do it!
