Catching Up

Well, between work, church, and school, the monotony of life has set in so there hasn't been too much to post about, but I thought it might be a good time for an update.
Rusty is well into his 2nd semester of study at the University of Aberdeen. He does most of his work from home, where he also enjoys lots of walks with John and the dogs and is a wonderful house husband! He also works 2 days a week at a sporting goods store in Perth (one of them Saturday, which minimizes our sight seeing time) and continues to be top seller every day.
I am a few weeks out of my training at Norwich Union. My days consist of taking household insurance claims, which can get pretty monotonous, however out of every few calls, there's one where I know I've been a bright spot in someone's pretty awful day and that's a bright spot in mine too.
We continue to be very involved in our church, Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Perth. Most recently, we are spending a lot of time with The Way, a group of 11 teens and 5 sponsors on an intentional discipleship journey. We are learning a lot and really enjoying it.
Perhaps the biggest thing going on right now is preparation for a trip to Kenya, which begins this Saturday at 3am. We are traveling with 5 of The Way kids and 2 other adults to Nairobi to work at Mashimoni Squatter School and Thomas Barnado House Orphanage. This is the opportunity of a lifetime and we look forward in expectation to see how God will work in our hearts as we serve on this trip.
