Cambo and Crail

Rusty's away on a trip to the States, so John and Isobel took me on a little road trip yesterday! First stop was the Cambo Estate in the Kingdom of Fife. The estate is famous for its numerous varieties of snowdrops, the first flower to bloom each year here in Scotland. My favorite part was the "wooded walk to the sea", a beautiful walk lined with snowdrops that led to the North Sea. It was beautiful.
After several hours at Cambo, we drove through other beautiful parts of Fife, ending up in Crail, a small coastal village. We walked down to the harbor and ended up at Crail Harbour Gallery and Tearoom, a stunning little place created from the cellar of a 17th century building. Inside are original flagstone floors, stone walls, and beamed ceilings. It was super cozy and we enjoyed a warm drink and afternoon snack before heading off to do more sightseeing.
Each time I take a little trip like this, I'm reminded what a privilege it is to live in such a treasure trove of beauty and history. It really is a gift.

You are making me want to visit you in Scotland! I especially love the picture of the building with the bright blue door. You should print that out and frame it!
