Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We've had a wonderful first holiday in Bentonville. Our neighbors and church friends, the Yeagers had a wonderful lunch for us and a lot of cute decorations (like the napkin rings/place cards above) and activities. Ed very thoughtfully made me vegetarian stuffing, and there were lots of other yummies too, like sweet potato puree, cranberry chutney, pecan cobbler, and key lime pie. I contributed my pumpkin roll, which has become a bit of a Thanksgiving tradition for us.

After lunch, Jaime had leaves for us to write things we're thankful for on. She also read fun jokes and trivia, and their son Isaiah (7), chose I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie, one of my favorite Thanksgiving books for children, for us to read. I loved all the thoughtful ideas to really think about the day and engage the kids.

After a nap for me and a football fix for Rusty, we went back over and played games (Apples to Apples, Pit, and a new one, Scum) with the Yeagers and another BNC family, The Goffs. We had a really fun and comfortable time with all of them. It's hard to believe that we've only been here a little over a week and we already feel so comfortable. What a blessing!
