In February/March, Rusty took a short trip to the US to present a paper at the Wesleyan Theological Society Conference. Whilst there he met Pastor Gift, a teacher and pastor at Africa Nazarene University (http://www.anu.ac.ke/). Rusty and Gift connected and we were invited to join the campus Nazarene church for their worship service on our first Sunday in Kenya.
We were so glad we did and really enjoyed seeing the beautiful campus which has been built up by work and witness teams, as well as meeting the amazing people studying and serving there. The service was full of prayer, lively music, and a message delivered by an enthusiastic female pastor (something which always warms my heart!).
Afterwards, the Chaplain and Vice Chancellor and their wives hosted us for lunch and we spent the afternoon learning more about Kenya. We also spent good time with Dibo, an ANU student and the church worship pastor and his fiancee, Janette. Dibo taught us some Swahili songs (complete with dance moves) which we sung throughout our trip. It was truly a blessed time and we eagerly joined them for worship again on Good Friday.
Rusty was also invited to do a Christology lecture for the mature students during the week, an opportunity he really enjoyed. We're hoping that this was only our first connection with ANU and that we will be back there again someday...

What a great connection to make! I'm so glad you were able to have meaningful worship in addition to the work you were doing.
WOW! What an amazing opportunity! It sounds amazing :)
