Yesterday at church, someone asked me, "So is this home now?" I had to laugh and tell her that there are two places I call home...wherever Rusty and I live and make our life together AND my hometown where my family lives...Clovis. So, whether I am coming or going, I always say that I'm going home.
At any rate, a couple of weeks ago, I had the unexpected treat of going home to Clovis. Rusty and my parents conspired to surprise me and my parents used their air miles to buy me a ticket. I got to spend 2 weeks in Clovis, which wasn't near enough time to see everyone as much as I'd hoped, but it was wonderful, and I enjoyed it immensely!
A few highlights...
*surprising Grandma Betty who didn't know I was coming
*seeing Grandma's completed back room and playing lots of Wii and watching movies in it
*relaxing, watching movies, playing Wii with, and just hanging out with Mom, Dad, Dustin, and Taylor
*Tiffany's weekend visit (eating, talking, laughing, resting, Wii-ing, scrapbooking)
*catching up and having lunch with my Mitchell family
*lunch, pizza, and LOST with Randy & Barbara
*helping and watching Mom & Connie in action at "2 Shabby Divas" (SO proud of those girls!)
*a several day visit with Grandma Marge
*celebrating Mom's birthday with her for the first time in years
*eating out, talking with Dad, and going to get me a new computer
*AND enjoying a few things about the good old USA that I've missed (coffee just the way I like it, Mexican food, cinnamon rolls with frosting, driving on the right, taking home my restaurant food leftovers, shopping, knowing what my coins are at first glance, saying "pants" without correcting myself...in Britain "pants" are underwear)
All in all, it was a wonderful time. :) Here's some pics...
