Waiting on the Lord

Those of you who have been with us through the small and difficult details of this process of moving to Scotland know that it's been a path of ups and downs and a huge test of patience and waiting. Rusty and I spent a lot of time together in prayer, agonizing over things like scholarship money, housing, pet transport and the ultimate decision of whether or not to even go. While it was often difficult, I will say that this process has truly enriched our marriage and led us to a new state of dependency upon God. There were days when something we'd prayed about was answered (like the church in Perth finding us free housing for 3 months) but answered in such a way that forced us to continue to WAIT and WATCH and PRAY and TRUST. I've realized that I've never truly trusted God, knowing that our future is completely and totally in His hands, and that I'm powerless to control or comprehend it. It has certainly not been easy, but it has been amazing.
As I mentioned, Rusty's school money has been on our prayer list for quite awhile. In the spring, we found out that he'd received a very prestigious award, an ORS scholarship, which covered a good portion of Rusty's schooling, but we were planning to take out loans for the rest and hope that he received more help in years 2 and 3. Well, this morning Rusty called me bright and early (due to the 7 hour time difference) to tell me that he'd arrived at orientation to find that he'd been given a full scholarship. I cannot tell you what a huge blessing this is, and it reminded us once again that God is providing for us and that while we can't see what's ahead, He is there and waiting on Him truly is sweet!

Congratulations to Rusty! What an awesome scholarship!! Hopefully that will take some of the financial burden off your shoulders! I am thinking of you both, as you get ready to leave. T-minus 2 days!
